Standard Terms & Conditions

1. Interpretation & Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions:

  • “Company” means The Filter Tap Company, registered and operating in the United Kingdom, serving the Cotswolds region.
  • “Customer” means the purchaser of Products or Services from the Company.
  • “Products” means filtered taps supplied by the Company.
  • “Installation Services” means the supply and installation of Products at a fixed price.
  • “Maintenance Services” means optional, one-off filter servicing or replacement (including other branded filters), which must be separately booked and paid for each time.
  • “Proposal” means any written quotation or offer made by the Company.
  • “Order” means the Customer’s acceptance of a Proposal, confirmed in writing or by payment.
  • “Fees” means the charges payable for Products, Installation Services, and/or Maintenance Services.
  • “Site” means the location at which Products are installed or Services are carried out.

2. Application of Terms

2.1 These Terms apply to all Proposals, Orders, Products, and Services supplied by the Company.


2.2 No other terms, conditions, or representations shall be binding unless expressly agreed in writing by the Company.

3. Proposals & Formation of Contract

3.1 A Proposal is valid for 30 days from issue unless withdrawn earlier.


3.2 An Order is formed once the Customer accepts a Proposal and the Company confirms acceptance in writing or by commencing work.

4. Scope of Goods & Services

4.1 The Company provides:

  • The supply and installation of filtered taps at a fixed price;
  • Optional Maintenance Services for filters supplied by the Company;
  • Optional Maintenance Services for other branded filters.

4.2 Maintenance Services are not included in installation pricing and must be booked and paid for separately each time. The Company may notify the Customer when maintenance is due, but no automatic continuation exists.

4.3 Additional works outside the Proposal, including plumbing alterations or unsafe Site conditions, may incur extra charges with the Customer’s prior approval.

5. Fees & Payment

5.1 Fees are payable at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed in writing.

5.2 Maintenance Services must be booked separately and are payable per visit.

5.3 Fees are fixed for the confirmed Order but may change for future Orders.

5.4 If the Customer fails to pay by the due date, the Company may suspend or cancel the Order without liability.

6. Customer Obligations

6.1 The Customer must ensure:

  • Safe and reasonable access to the Site;
  • A working water supply.
  • Suitable conditions for carrying out Services.

6.2 The Company is not liable for delays or additional costs resulting from inadequate Site conditions, inaccurate information provided, or failure to provide access.

7. Cancellations & Rescheduling

7.1 The Customer may cancel an Installation or Maintenance Service by giving at least 48 hours’ notice.


7.2 If cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice, or if access is not available at the agreed time, the Company may charge a call-out fee.


7.3 The Company reserves the right to reschedule appointments where necessary, including but not limited to staff illness, supply delays, or circumstances beyond its control.

8. Warranties & Liability

8.1 Products supplied may carry manufacturer warranties; details will be provided upon installation.


8.2 The Company warrants Installation Services for 12 months against workmanship defects.


8.3 The Company warrants Maintenance Services for 3 months against workmanship defects.


8.4 The Company shall not be liable for:

  • Misuse, neglect, unauthorised alterations, or failure to follow instructions;
  • Failures of third-party products not supplied by the Company;
  • Indirect or consequential loss, including water damage, loss of income, or business interruption.


8.5 Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by the Company’s negligence, or for fraud.

9. Termination

9.1 The Company may suspend or terminate an Order immediately where:

  • The Customer fails to pay Fees when due;
  • The Customer breaches these Terms and does not remedy the breach within 14 days of notice;
  • Continuing the Services would create safety, legal, or regulatory risks.

10. Force Majeure

The Company shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform where caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to supply shortages, strikes, extreme weather, or government restrictions.

11. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with any Proposal and Order confirmation, constitute the entire agreement between the Company and the Customer.

12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
